John Hartford was an American folk, country and bluegrass composer and musician known for his mastery of the fiddle and banjo, as well as for his witty lyrics, unique vocal style, and extensive knowledge of Mississippi River lore.
John Hartford passed away in 2001, and this festival is held in his memory, and for the ideals that he promoted in his life and music.
John Hotze, the organizer of the event was put in contact with us via a mutual friend. It takes alot of money to start an event like this and John wasnt in the position to pay alot. Large events can provide good exposure for a designer - so we informed him how much time it would take to create the site, and our regular rate and told him to pay us whatever he could afford.
