Tech Insight Magazine (v2.0)

Over the years the Tech Insight Website was growing, and it was time for its design to grow as well!

For starters, we moved to a more modern and SEO friendly blog format.

Most of the old video standard def video was migrated to Vimeo, and all new video content will be in full HD.

Moving to Vimeo is really helping us out with server perforance as well as video quality and device compatibility (I'm looking at you Apple Computers).

We also implemented a Content Delivery Network from the fine folks over at MAXCDN to decrease load times for all of our visitors world-wide!

Tech Insight Magazine (v1.0)

Tech Insight is the website of the trade publication for members of Intel's (Reseller) Channel Partner Program.

They came to us very frustrated after hiring an amatuer to put together a Joomla 1.5.x website.

On a very limited timeframe we were able to put together a very complicated and highly functional online news site. We created all of the necessary standards for consistancy accross the site - as well as providing training and support for the sites administrators and editors.

The site is also highly optimized for maximum readability and orgainzation of content.

Ryan is a Professional Speaker, Consultant and Agent of Change helping companies, managers, leaders and sellers more effectively connect to their two most important audiences:  employees and customers.

He came to us with a Joomla site that was developed by the large Minneapolis based firm. The site design was very nice, but the Joomla structure and functionality left much to be desired.

We've revised his navigation and content, employed some beautiful 'lightbox' popup modules to display models and videos, and re-engineered the layout of his homepage, to name a few.

Sea Foam Sales Company

Sea Foam came to us with a prexisting Joomla 1.0 series website.  The site was outdated and didn't really do much for the client.

We redesigned from the ground up with a fresh install of Joomla 1.5.x.  The styling is very consistant.

We continue to work with Sea Foam, and will for some time implementing custom training solutions for their vendors, as well as a corporate intranet and an EDI compliant warehouse gateway.

Sea Foam - Custom Facebook Pages and Tabs

Social networking is more important than ever for maintaining and controlling your brand image.  A good social networking strategy can increase your bottom line by increasing brand consciousness in a very personal way.

We created three custom tab (applications) for Facebook:

A Where to Buy page that links to store locators for the individual brands that retail Sea Foam products, a main Identity page with history and usage information, and a page highlighting Sea Foam's sponsorship of Concordia University and the CU Golden Bears sports programs.

Sea Foam - Ask Jim! Customer Support Portal

Jim Davis is Sea Foam's Master Mechanic and technical advisor.  This site allows customers to interface directly with the company and receive expert advice on how to use Sea Foam products.

Logins and profiles are all managed by Facebook.  This gave us the freedom to avoid the constant war against spam comments that tend to come up on public help boards like this.

An additional benefit of using Facebook is that it allowed us to bypass the normally cumbersome process of creating a new user account.  Users can click the connect with facebook button and instantly start posting.  The post is also then echo'd on the users facebook wall, helping to further increase brand awareness.

Jim isnt a very "techy" guy, and he describes the site as being very easy to use!

Just Scratch It

Just Scratch It sells custom scratch-off cards geared to promote business, event, trade show or employee incentives.

When Brian from Just Scratch It contacted us,  he had been attempting to build his site himself - outsourcing work overseas with a popular online service.  However development had stalled, and he wasn't satisfied with the work that had been performed.

Working with him we improved his preliminary design  and incorporated several features he had wanted but hadnt been able to implement.

Eaglewood Technologies

Eaglewood Technologies, makers of Sani-Blast™, offers an array of unique products for flexographic printers, from environmentally sensitive anilox roll cleaning systems and service to unique linerless inks, as well as Variable Data Printing (VDP) systems.

Eaglewood Technologies is another company that came to us with a poorly designed and executed Joomla 1.0 based website.  The client stressed the need to separate the data on the site into the two distinctly different industries that they serve:  Flexographic Printing, and Soda Blasting.

The client also wanted to strongly emphasize their corporate partnerships and their leadership in several professional trade organizations.

Myrick Visual LLC

Myrick Visual is an award-winning video production agency of story-focused professionals with decades of experience in film and video.

Ben Myrick came to us with a poorly performing static website.  Working from his photoshop based concept drawings we created a fast and flexible ajaxy template showcasing his portfolio and customer testimonials.

Since Myrick Visual came to use with such a focused image in mind, so we were happy to sit back and let Ben take care of all of the design work normally do.   However, we still got to have a lot of fun integrating various technical solutions for the website.

John Hartford Memorial Festival

John Hartford was an American folk, country and bluegrass composer and musician known for his mastery of the fiddle and banjo, as well as for his witty lyrics, unique vocal style, and extensive knowledge of Mississippi River lore.

John Hartford passed away in 2001, and this festival is held in his memory, and for the ideals that he promoted in his life and music.

John Hotze, the organizer of the event was put in contact with us via a mutual friend.   It takes alot of money to start an event like this and John wasnt in the position to pay alot.  Large events can provide good exposure for a designer - so we informed him how much time it would take to create the site, and our regular rate and told him to pay us whatever he could afford.

White Lily Acupuncture

This site is a great example of simple, elegant design in Joomla.  The client, Christine Keller recently decided to open her own acupuncture business, and came to us looking for something unique.  The natural elements reflect the holistic nature of acupuncture.  White lilies are a symbol of fertility, one of Christine's specialities.

white-lily-biz-card-tn

This site is another good example of typography and simplicity. We employed a Cufon custom font plugin to accentuate page titles and headings. It really makes any site stand out as being unique and refined. We've also integrated a newsletter signup form into the page, and designed a business card.

Some great feedback has already started pouring in, my favorite of which is this quote:

"I'm sitting here with my mouth gaping open because your website is so fantastically beautiful! I totally love it! Who ended up doing it?"
